  Sep 14,  · Manually Manage means just that - you do all the work of moving songs onto the iPod. Sync means to synchronise (to make the same). They are two different methods of managing your iPod. You cannot use both at the same time. Therefore, if you wish to Sync - use Sync. Otherwise, you will need to drag the new CD ripped albums onto your iPod yourself.

  Connect the iPod and click the iPod button. After connecting the iPod, iTunes adds the iPod button in the upper-right corner of the window, which includes the eject button on the right side, and either the X cancel button to cancel syncing (move your pointer over the animated sync icon to see the X if the iPod is syncing) or an iPod icon on the right side.

  An easier way in that case is to choose specific playlists, album, artists, and/or genres to sync. With your iPod/iPad/iPhone connected to your Mac, click on the device in iTunes, then click on.

  Step 4: Select all those songs that you want to transfer to your iPod from the iTunes panel. You can select multiple songs by holding down the CTRL key. After you’re done selecting the songs that you want manually sync to your iPod, drop them in the iPod icon, on the left side of the iTunes window. Click on apply and let the magic happen.

  When you drag an album cover or album title, all the songs in the album are copied. If you drag a playlist name from your library to the iPod column, all the songs associated with the playlist copy along with the playlist itself. You can also copy albums into a playlist on the iPod by dragging them over the playlist name in the iPod column.

  I had no problem from my CD to my laptop. And my ipod, once connected, is recognized by name and shows all it’s folders and songs in the itunes display. On connection, my ipod syncs, but when I drag and drop the album, or using the mouse, or use the commands from the drop down menu, nothing happens.
