This label variant is most similar to The Rolling Stones - Metamorphosis, however there are a number of differences: Does not put a box around the NCB rights society on the labels, - Side indicator on label is to the left of the spindle hole (rather than the right)5/5(2).

Apr 12,  · I get why this collection of demos and outtakes was looked upon as a kind of cash grab back in Now, it's just a curiosity. Being recordings from a six-year stretch, it definitely sounds disjointed. More taken for each individual track than as a unified album, Metamorphosis is a fair collection for a big Rolling Stones fan (hi!)/5(K).

Though it remains the only Rolling Stones outtakes collection album ever to be officially released, Metamorphosis is one of those albums that has been slighted by almost everyone who has touched it, a problem that lies in its genesis. While both the Stones and former manager Allen Klein agreed that some form of archive release was necessary, if only to stem the then-ongoing flow of bootlegs.

It was, for many years, the only album of Rolling Stones outtakes around. It has no chronological arrangement, however, the tracks are included willy-nilly. So, with that in mind, here is where they are sourced form: "Out Of Time" - recorded in Shorter than the extended version that appeared on "Aftermath". "Don't Lie To Me" - /5().

METAMORPHOSIS by devilsadvocate June 27, Rating: I really wish I could give this album a higher rating. I'm looking at my old vinyl copy and Side 2 would deserve at least an 8, while Side 1 would be lucky to get away.
