Aug 11,  · This is the band's best album yet and one of their more commercial (replete with commercials). One of the band's most powerful singles is introduced here. "I Can See For Miles" is classic Who with Keith Moon playing the melody line and Townsend in all his thrashing glory. This may be the group's best song/5().

The Who Sell Out is the third studio album by the British rock band the was released on 15 December by Track Records in the UK and Decca Records in the US.. A concept album, The Who Sell Out is structured as a collection of unrelated songs interspersed with fake commercials and public service announcements. The album purports to be a broadcast by pirate radio station Radio Psychedelic pop, power pop, art pop.
  • Kajigore says:
The Who Sell Out's pirate-radio concept goes south in the album's second half--the Who ran out of time before they could write enough faux commercials--but it still remains in many ways their best and most entertaining album. Pete Townshend and John Entwistle supply song after great song, and along with Keith Moon play them with power and focus/5().

"I Can See for Miles" is a song by the English rock band the Who, recorded for the band's album The Who Sell Out. Written by guitarist Pete Townshend, it was the only song from the album to be released as a single. It remains the Who's biggest hit single in the US and, after debuting on the Hot at number 72 on 14 October , their only one to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot.

Melancholia can not be found on any other version foreign or domestic of Sell Out or any other cd or album. Great song by the way. Well that is all I have for this set, and I still think it is a great set. In fact, I love all The Who's Deluxe Editions. By the way, this particular version of the Sell Out Japanese veraion is no longer available /5().
  • Minris says:
Pete Townshend originally planned The Who Sell Out as a concept album of sorts that would simultaneously mock and pay tribute to pirate radio stations, complete with fake jingles and commercials linking the tracks. For reasons that remain somewhat ill defined, the concept wasn't quite driven to completion, breaking down around the middle of side two (on the original vinyl configuration).
